Columbia, SC – 1/20/2010 - WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced Capital City Entertainment has been selected to receive the WeddingWire 2010 Bride’s Choice Awards™ for DJ Entertainment!
The annual Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in quality and service within the wedding industry, as determined by recent reviews and extensive surveys from over 500,000 newlyweds.
Capital City Entertainment is among the top five percent of all vendors in the WeddingWire community, which includes over 100,000 wedding professionals across the US and Canada. Awards were given to winners across 19 different service categories, from wedding venues to wedding photographers.

We just recently joined Wedding Wire. Not so much for the advertising but for their review system. We wanted an easy way for brides to share their experience with us to other brides. I am hoping that Wedding Wire will grow in popularity and result in a sucessful tool for our business. Check out our first 2 reviews!
As you can see our blog has been down for several months. Due to spammers and hackers I had to shut it down. Lack of time and motivation is the reason for the long delay in getting it back up. I do believe I have it fully functional and will attempt to update once a week or so. It has been a busy summer and our Halloween events will wrap up this Saturday. We should see some slow time coming up in November to focus on our advertising campaign for next year. Check back often for Capital City Entertainment news and events.
I would like to welcome Steven Stanton to the Capital City Entertainment family.
Steven is currently attending USC and will be graduating this year with a BFA in Graphic Design. Steven brings with him 7 years of DJ/VJ experience and a vast knowledge of video production making him a perfect fit for our new video show.
Over the past couple of months I have been purchasing equipment for our Video Dance Parties. This new equipment will mainly be used for HS Proms and Super Sweet 16 Parties. The show consists of (2) giant 10′ rear projection video screens, (2) BenQ 3000 lumin projectors, Videonics MXPro video mixer, Numark NuVJ software and midi controller, Dell XPS Laptop, 20″ flat panel monitor, and numerous video clips, special effects, and music videos. During the course of the show we will be projecting music videos, video special effects, and live camera feed. Last fall we pitched this idea to several of our prom sponsors and they were all for it. We wanted to set ourself apart from other entertainment companies and hopefully get more prom business in the future. Sure there are other companies out there that offer video dance parties in our market but not to this scale. We will be using this new equipment for the first time next Friday, March 6th, at a Super Sweet 16 Party. Check back for pictures!
Dana and myself just returned from the Mobile Beat DJ Convention in Las Vegas. One of the seminars we attended was Marketing To The 21st Century Bride. We were taught different marketing strategies and one was creating a blog. So, here it is! Our very first blog. I will be updating the blog at least twice a week with industry news, company news, vendor relations, and other information to see where we have been, where we are now, and where we are going.
