Kappa Kappa Gamma Kickoff 2009

November 24th, 2009

On Sunday I provided sound and music for the Kappa Kappa Gamma 2009 Flag Football tournament behind the Greek Village. It was my second year doing this event. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate they still had a great turnout.

Money raised by the sorority is donated to local charities. I really commend this group for the effort they put into this tournament. It was a huge success and I hope I can be a part in it again next year.

Halloween Week

November 2nd, 2009

We just completed a busy Halloween week. On Wednesday we had a Kids party sponsored by Groucho’s Deli. This was our third year hosting this party. The kids had a blast and so did I. We played several games and had a dance contest as well as a costume contest.

On Thursday we did the Trick or Treat Trail sponsored by the Kershaw County Hospital. It was our seventh year providing sound and entertainment for this event. About 20 Kershaw County businesses set up a booth for the kids and Dance Extrordinare did a routine to “Thriller”. Not sure of the final numbers but it was close to 1,000 kids came through.

We wrapped up the weekend with the Annual Halloween Bash sponsored by USC Student BAR Association. This party was held at the Columbia Convention Center and had around 800 in attendance. This was our third year providing entertainment for this large event. We have to set up our large sound system consisting of over 5,000 watts to fill this room. Dana and Steven both had engagements elsewhere so I had to recruit a couple of friends to help me out. Thanks Dave and Roger for the help!

Weekend Update

March 15th, 2009

We had 2 events yesterday.  One was a wedding located at the Robert Mills Courthouse in Camden and the other was a Sorority Formal also located in Camden at the Health Resource Center.

Dana performed for the wedding reception but I helped him setup as I was only a couple miles down the road from him.  The reception was being catered by Tronco’s out of Columbia.  I will have to say that the food presentation was fantastic and the facility looked amazing.  Dana said the guests were raving about the food.  Our policy is to not eat while working a reception but it is displays like this that make us want to dive right in.  The Tronco’s staff were also extremely friendly.  It is always a joy when we get to work with professionals like this.  Check them out at Tronco’s.com

Small System

Small System

The Robert Mills Courthouse is a small venue perfect for 100 people or so.  Everytime we perform here we use our small system with a big punch.  This system is perfect if space is limited.

Red and White Ball
This was my 3rd year performing for the Delta’s.  This is a fun group that likes to party.   I met Maxie Joye from Four “K” Max Photography LLP who was doing the portraits.    He had a staff of 4 and they stayed busy all night.  Maxie offers a service that few photographers can offer.  He is able to print a portrait right on the spot that you can take home that night.  Who likes to wait on pictures anyway?  I think this service sets him out from others.  The quality of the photographs were outstanding.  Look them up online.

Medium System

Medium System

We have plenty of room at the Health Resource Center so we can pretty much do anything we want.  We opted for a medium system for up to 400 guests and customized a light show for them.  Since we play for them every year we try to change up the light show.  I was pleased with the way it turned out this year.  I played a lot of old school as well as current hits.  I always enjoy a good variety of music like this.

Next weekend we will be back at the Health Resource Center for Camden Prom.  That’s right, Prom season is here……

Super Sweet 16 Party

March 13th, 2009

Last Friday night we did a Super Sweet 16 Party. It was the first time we used video projection and uplighting. The party was fantastic and everything went as planned. We received many compliments from the vendors that worked this party.

Here is a short YouTube clip.

USC Student Bar Association Black Tie

March 1st, 2009
Put Your Hands In The Ayer!

Put Your Hands In The Ayer!

I just finished performing at the Zone Lounge in Williams Brice Stadium for the USC Student Bar Association’s Black Tie event.  What a fun group this was.  It was the third event I have done for these folks and it is a joy everytime.  Let me tell you, these up and coming laywers know how to party.  What I like so much about this group is that they like a variety of music.  I played everything from Jackson 5,  Neil Diamond, to T Pain, and Akon.  It was really a pleasure working with them and I hope I have the honor of performing for them again.
